Logistics
I joined IKEA's logistics team following an opportunity offered to me internally. Although my profile is more commercial than logistical, I seized the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and learn about a new field. It turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences I've had so far.
I was in charge of leading and motivating the physical flows team to ensure optimal product availability at the best price, while respecting the processes in place. This responsibility enabled me to develop my leadership and team motivation skills, as well as gaining a better understanding of the company's processes.
I also helped draw up the store's business plan and logistics action plan, providing input on flow management. This experience enabled me to develop my project management and strategic planning skills.
In addition, I contributed to improving product quality, merchandising and the customer's in-store shopping experience. I worked closely with other team members to identify opportunities for improvement and implement concrete solutions.
Finally, I helped identify and develop talent within the company's physical flows team. I worked with my colleagues to identify their strengths and offer them professional development opportunities accordingly.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience as a member of the IKEA logistics team and have developed new skills and knowledge that will be useful in my future professional development. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to take part in this experience and I'm convinced that it will help me achieve my future goals.
